Daily Newspapers Now Blogging - BloggingTricks.com

Does your local newspaper have a blog? Chances are, the answer is yes. In fact, the major daily newspapers are all quickly adopting blogging as a way to hang on to their traditional audience. As more and more people start to get their news online, newspaper company executives realize that they better fight for that audience if newspapers are going to remain relevant.
Portland Oregonian
Houston Chronicle
Washington Post
Seattle Times
USA Today
St. Petersburg Times
Atlanta Journal-Constitution
San Antonio Express-News
These are just some of the newspapers that have robust blogs available. In fact, of the nation's top 100 newspapers, only 13 don't have blogs.
Some smaller newspapers are also getting into the blogging habit. The Spokesman Review in Spokane, WA has a great blog called, Blogging@Spokesmanreview.com.
Newspapers are primarily using blogs to keep their news stories fresh, for commentary and in some cases as replacements for the LETTER TO THE EDITOR section, since it's so easy to enable reader-generated feedback.
Some newspapers are even adding RSS feeds for their Classifieds section - no doubt a very smart move given the fact that the Internet is just KILLING the traditional newspaper classified business.
If the newspaper business is on board with blogging, that means it's arrived. How about your industry? Is it blogging yet?
