Test Your Blog - BloggingTricks.com

When you write a blog post, you should save and preview it before publishing it. That way, any errors in spelling or formatting can be detected before your audience sees the post.

It's a good idea to test your post in several browsers. I typically test using Apple Safari, Camino, Flock and Firefox. If you're primarily a PC person or you think you're writing for a primarily PC audience, you'll want to add Internet Explorer to that list.

Not every browser displays content in the same way and occasionally, your post won't look right in one or two of the browsers you test. You then have the task of figuring out what formatting changes you need to make to get the best general representation you can out of all the browsers.

Speaking of browsers, sometimes your browser may be stuck on an old version of the post, even after you correct it. This is usually caused by the browser's cache. And the fix is simple. Clear your browser's cache.

I use Apple's Safari as my primary browser. To clear the cache in Safari, I just close all open browser windows, go to the menu that says Safari select "empty cache" and then close and re-open my browser. Then the problem goes away. Consult your browser's help menu to learn how to clear its cache.
