You may hear the word TAG and the word KEYWORD used interchangeably. While they are similar, there are some important differences.

The primary difference is that a keyword is something used by professionals to identify the content on their site. As the blogger, you have control over the keywords you use. Tags are generally something generated by users to help locate content. Tags can be anything. And as the blogger, you can suggest tags, but ultimately, the tags used to describe your content will be decided on by the users.

Tags are more flexible than keywords. They can be used to create categories, for example. Keywords are something you might use to trigger activity by a search engine.
