Increase Blog Traffic Part 6/The Series - BloggingTricks.com - BloggingTricks.com

This post is part of my series on promoting your blog and increasing your blog traffic. Read Part 1, read Part 2, read Part 3, read Part 4 and then read Part 5 first, then follow-up with this post.

This is the last official post in this six-part series. I will continue to provide blog promotion tips on occasion but I want to do a couple of other series as well. Since this is the last trick in the series I wanted to save the best for last. Are you ready?

Issue a news release announcing your blog.

Once you have a few posts under your belt and you've worked out any technical or design issues, you should issue your first news release.

A news release is just an announcement that tells the world about your blog. Newspapers, magazines, TV and radio stations and even new media rely on news releases to find out what's happening that is newsworthy.

Writing a news release is as simple as deciding on what's news, who is involved, why it matters, who is impacted, how the information can be used and how or where to contact those involved.

A company called PRWEB will distribute your news release to a wire service for as little as $40. This could get you national exposure and at least will put you on the radar of journalists covering your industry.

PRWEB has an excellent free tutorial you can check out to learn the basics of writing a news release.

And for an example, check out this news release that I issued when I launched my PodcastingTricks.com blog.
